Industry Veteran Brent Beatty to Lead Operation
OBERLIN, OH — May 16, 2017—indiCo today announced that it has established a Canadian operation, indiCo Store Services Ltd., to deliver its full range of operational and sourcing services to independent campus stores in Canada. A subsidiary of the National Association of College Stores (NACS), indiCo is a collaborative of independent campus stores committed to affordability and student success. The collaborative provides higher education with an alternative to leasing and supports self-operated campus stores through customized services that lower operational costs.
“More than 60 campus stores in Canada are members of NACS. They are an important and active part of our industry,” said Ed Schlichenmayer, indiCo president and NACS chief operating officer. “This new operation will allow us to efficiently provide opportunities and tailored services to meet the unique needs of Canadian campus stores.”
Joining indiCo as the vice president of indiCo Store Services Ltd. in Canada is Brent Beatty. Beatty has more than 20 years of experience in the campus store marketplace, having spent the last 14 years as the store director at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He has played an integral role with the Canadian Campus Retail Associates (CCRA), Campus eBookstore Inc. (CEI), and recently served on the NACS Board of Trustees.
